All action Jaxon

Friday, 18 May 2018 - All American will be double-handed in the G1 Queensland Derby following a fighting victory by Kurnel Jaxon at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The front-running colt proved too strong in the Ranvet Power Formula Hcp (1600m). “Josh (Parr) pulled the stick early and he raced away for a well-deserved win,” trainer David Pfieffer said. “He’s a very smart colt on a path to the Queensland Derby.”

KURNEL JAXON

Wednesday’s result came shortly after Geisel Park Stud announced All American will be returning to stand in Western Australia after a one-off book in Victoria last year. His last-start G3 Rough Habit Plate winner Dark Dream is the $3.50 pre-post favourite for the Queensland Derby on June 9.

Kurnel Jaxon (3c All American - Kvarena by Arena) has won 4 times in 10 starts for the McGrath family who also raced his winning older brother De Kurnell. Their 2yo half-sister by Camelot cost $60,000 at the Magic Millions National Sale and she has been syndicated by Pfieffer.

Geisel Park studmaster Conor Dunlop reports news of All American’s repatriation has sparked interest from local and interstate broodmare owners. “I’ve had calls and emails from all over the country including the owners of Dark Dream’s dam Buchanan Girl,” Dunlop revealed. “The mare’s first All American foal was a filly but she was struck by lightning.

“We have five All American foals entered for the Perth Winter Sale next month. They’re from his first book here in 2016 and they won’t look out of the place in the Premier Yearling Sale next February.”

All American (Red Ransom) will stand for an $7,700 (inc gst) service fee. For more information, contact Conor Dunlop (0447 434 735), John Chalmers (0418 948 604) or Eddie Rigg (0418 942 304).
