Apache on Patrol at Pinjarra

Tuesday, 8 December 2020 | Apache Patrol looked readymade winning the Holiday Racing Maiden (1200m) at Pinjarra on Sunday.

The All American 3yo did everything expected of a more seasoned galloper on debut.  He travelled in the running line behind Even Magic who ran them along before Brad Parnham pounced at the top of the straight.

Apache Patrol (pictured) eased off heels into clear air and and responded to a left-hand ride to score by a half-length for Horseshoe Investments manager Rod Russell and a syndicate that includes his breeder Jade Fletcher.

Trained by Stephen Miller at Port Kennedy, Apache Patrol is the latest winner from All American’s first crop conceived at Geisel Park Stud.  His overall record stands at 213 individual winners for over $24 million in progeny earnings.

Fletcher bred him from Gypsy Rose Lee (Pins) who has a pedigree infused with stamina from New Zealand.  She is a sister to the dam of Savabeel stakes winners Brambles (G1 Queensland Derby), Lincoln Blue (G3 Wellington Stakes) and Lopov (LR Kalgoorlie Cup),

The All American – Savabeel cross has produced $630,000 earner Looks Like Elvis who has won 8 races in Brisbane and been stakes-placed at Flemington and Rosehill.  He holds a nomination for the $5 million All Star Mile at Moonee Valley on March 13.

After foaling Apache Patrol, Fletcher sent Gypsy Rose Lee to Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley where she delivered colts by Shalaa and Maurice.  Her most recent cover was to Victorian-based G1 Caulfield Cup winner Boom Time who was bred in WA by Ian Loxton.

All American (Red Ransom) has 7 yearlings – all colts – catalogued for the 2021 Perth Magic Millions and, apart from the Geisel Park draft, there are also entrants from Misty Valley Thoroughbreds and Quanah Park.
