Best Feet forward at Pinjarra

Tuesday, 25 April 2017 - Duck Feet was banging on the door to win a race after being runner-up in his first three starts for Geisel Park Stud.

WAR CHANT

Pinjarra trainer Brett Pope targeted a mile maiden at home on Anzac Day as a winnable race and left him in safe hands of Willie Pike in the Pinjarra RSL Maiden (1600m).

Punters backed the War Chant gelding into a $1.50 favourite and Pike did the rest with a 10 out of 10 ride. They followed the leader What’s Up Doc and cut the corner for a hard-fought, three-quarter length victory.

Duck Feet is the third winner from three starters bred by Geisel Park out of USA-bred mare Adalia (Silver Charm). She is a half-sister to G1 Stephen Foster Hcp winner Seek Gold (Touch Gold).

Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg has bred, raced and sold numerous winners by War Chant (USA). He linked with Yarradale Stud’s Ron Sayers to bring the son of Danzig to Western Australia in 2011.
