Danni digs Deep

Monday, 4 January 2021 | Our Danni is nothing if not courageous and that was the difference in her narrow victory at Ascot on Perth Cup day.

The All American filly was paddling but fell in to win the TABtouch-Better Your Bet Plate (1100m).  That said, she was entitled to feel the pressure after being posted three-wide for the duration without cover.

“That was enormous,” trainer Luke Fernie said.  “She’s deep into this campaign and I will talk with (owner) Andrew Inglis.  We will be looking after her because she’s got ability.”

Our Danni (pictured) helped launch All American with his first local 2yo crop conceived at Geisel Park Stud.  She was one of three winners by him before Xmas last season and he went into Ascot’s latest summer carnival as a Top 5 stallion in WA.

All American has five colts from Geisel Park at the Perth Magic Millions including the half-brother to Devine Beast (Lot 76).  The homebred Magnus filly climbed through the grades in the Goldfields and was one of those late closers when placed behind Our Danni on Cup day.

Geisel Park manager Conor Dunlop said her half-brother is a ‘ripper colt’ and he’s also delighted with the progress of their Playing God full-sister to Group 1 performer Platoon (Lot 39) since arriving in Myalup.  Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg pin-hooked her for $80,000 at the Mungrup Dispersal.
