Full sister to Group 1 winner born in WA

This All American filly born at Geisel Park Stud last week is a full sister to Group 1 winner Dark Dream

Tuesday, 22 October 2019 | Racing royalty was born in WA last week when Geisel Park Stud welcomed the arrival of a full sister to Group 1 winner Dark Dream.

NSW owner-breeder Mary Jane Bosson sent Dark Dream’s dam Buchanan Girl to WA in the hope of producing another Dark Dream, who won last year’s Queensland Derby at Doomben.

The son of All American was then sold to Hong Kong following a reported offer of $2.75 million.

“I can’t imagine there would be a full relation to a Group 1 winner born in WA this year,” Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg said.

“It’s quite unusual. It’s great to have a mare like Buchanan Girl here and she’s going back to All American this year.”

Rigg bought All American two weeks to the day before Dark Dream’s Queensland Derby win.

Fuchsia Bandana’s half-sister by Vert De Grece

On the same night his sister was born, Geisel Park also celebrated the arrival of a half-sister to quality mare Fuchsia Bandana by resident sire, Vert De Grece.

“They’re both lovely fillies,” Rigg said.

Fuchsia Bandana won Group 3s the Northerly Stakes, Hyperion Stakes and Strickland Stakes for trainer Darren McAuliffe before she was sold to top breeder Bob Peters.

All American stands for a $7700 service fee at Geisel Park, with French Group 1 winner Vert De Grece priced at $5500.
