Geisel Park double in Goldfields

Monday, 24 August 2020 | Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg warmed up for the Kalgoorlie Cup round with a winning double on Sunday.

I'M A BUSH CHOOK

I'm A Bush Chook flew home first-up in the LD Total Maiden (1300m) and Devine Beast was always travelling like a winner in the Goldfields Garage Doors Hcp (1200m).

Initially with Pearce Racing, I'm A Bush Chook transferred to Dion Luciani after a couple of unplaced runs at Ascot earlier this year.  She was spotting the leaders four lengths at the furlong but jumped out of the ground to score by a long neck over She Knows Best (Safeguard).

She is the latest locally-bred All American winner for Luciani following his Ascot 2yo winners Too Spicy and Our Danni.  All American stands at Geisel Park and I'm A Bush Chook is the final foal of Ascot winner Bitter Emu (Ihtiram).

Devine Beast (Magnus) was tagged one of this season’s better maiden winners in Kalgoorlie a fortnight ago and she confirmed that rating in a Class 2 on Sunday.  Having her first start for Peter Fernie, she settled behind the speed for Kyra Yuill and then cruised past stablemate Moorumbine (City Place) to score with something in hand.

Rigg retained Devine Beast after she was passed-in at the 2019 Magic Millions Winter Yearling Sale.  Her dam Tenko (Shinko King) has a yearling colt by All American.

The $100,000 Coolgardie Cup (1760m) kicks off the Goldfields carnival on Sunday, September 6.

Geisel Park stands All American for a $6,600 service fee this season alongside French Group 1 winner Vert De Grece who is priced at $4,400.  Fees (inc GST).
