Geisel Park sires strike in Victoria

Wednesday, 20 July 2016 - All American and Foreplay have kept their Victorian strike-rates ticking over with more progressive maiden winners leading up to the Geisel Park parade this Sunday.

The former Hunter Valley stallions are shaping up for their first Sunspeed books and both have been in career-best form since arriving at Myalup earlier this year.

All American is flying high with nation-wide focus on his Champion 2YO Filly Yankee Rose. His 3YOs are also getting among the wins – admittedly without as much fanfare - Maya Maya was the 27th in that division this season on Friday.

Maya Maya was having his first start for Lindsay Park in an all-age maiden over 1100m. “He’s got a good future,” jockey Michael Walker said after the on-pace victory at Geelong. “They put the speed on but he settled and was in a rhythm. It was a good effort and he looks like getting out to a mile.”

Lindsay Park’s David Hayes trained All American and he also prepares All American colt All Out Of Love who won a Pakenham maiden before advancing to a black-type placing in the LR Gibson Carmichael Stakes at Flemington last week.

Foreplay filly Wicked Affair was knocking on the door before breaking her maiden at Mildura on Monday. Leading Adelaide trainer David Jolly took her over the border for a second time this month after a fast-finishing fourth on July 4.

Wicked Affair was perfectly-placed by Jamie Kah in the run and favourite punters were on a collect when she sprinted clear in the straight. Bred by Melbourne stockbroker Jonathon Rosham, she is a daughter of G3 Birthday Card Stakes winner Aunty Betty.

All American stands for $10,000 (plus gst) and Foreplay is priced at $4,500 (plus gst).

The Geisel Park Stud stallion parade in Myalup is scheduled for 2pm this Sunday, July 24. For further details call Eddie Rigg (0418 942 304), Conor Dunlop (0447 434 735), Mark Pilkington (0418 955 837).
