Off-shore double by All American

Wednesday, 4 July 2018 - Geisel Park stallion All American launched the first-leg of an international double on Friday night when his former Australian galloper Grexit was successful in Macau.

Grexit produced a powerful finish to score a two-length victory in the Puerto Princesa (1050m) in a quick 62.01s. It was his second win for trainer Danny Wong since transferring from Kris Lees last year.

A $60,000 buy at the 2015 Inglis Classic yearling sale, he was a Wyong 2yo winner against older horses in three starts for successful owner Alan Bell. His dam Hyperinflation (Rock Of Gibraltar) also has an All American 2yo filly named Dimonte Girl who won a Port Macquarie trial last week.

Fellow All American expat Elusive State completed the weekend double at Sha Tin on Sunday in the Continuous Development Hcp (1650m). With Joao Moriera taking over the reins, he hit the front turning for home and careered away for a five length victory.

Elusive State's connections at Sha Tin

Elusive State (4g All American - Jarada by Redoute's Choice) was a bargain $40,000 buy for Angela Cruz at the 2015 Inglis Easter yearling sale. Sent to New Zealand, he created a big impression on debut winning a Te Rapa juvenile against the odds in June 2016.

Stewards reported he bumped another runner at the start and continued to jostle in the initial stages. Jockey Lynsey Satherley also advised the bit had broken mid-race!

A big animal in the All American mould, Elusive State was rated a Guineas horse for the spring but was sent to Hong Kong without another start in NZ. Now trained by Derek Cruz for owner Eden Wong, he has earned the equivalent of AUD 262,370 and his second win over a mile this year sets up a rise through the classes next season.

All American (Red Ransom) stands for a $7,700 (inc GST) fee at Geisel Park with French Group 1 winner Vert De Grece (Verglas) who is available at $5,500 (inc GST).
