Superb season for Devine Beast

Friday, 2 October 2020 | Devine Beast has given trainer Peter Fernie and jockey Kyra Yuill the first-leg of a winning double on the Hannans Hcp card in Kalgoorlie.

DEVINE BEAST

The Geisel Park filly powered home to win the McDonald’s Hcp (1100m) on Thursday to complete a superb season in the Goldfields.  She has won 3 times in 4 starts and her only defeat was a long-neck second to The Beach last month.

Devine Beast (3f Magnus – Tenko by Shinko King) was retained by Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg after being passed-in at the 2019 Magic Millions Winter Yearling Sale.  “She will go out for a well-deserved break now and will likely come to town next prep,” Geisel Park manager Conor Dunlop said.  “She’s only little but tries her heart out every time.

“Her dam Tenko has a ripper yearling colt by All American and she foaled an All American filly in August.  We sent her across to Rangeview Stud to be covered by their new sire Long Leaf this season.”

Fernie and Yuill completed a running double with Nord Avenir (Fighting Sun) in the Johnnie Walker Hcp (1400m).   She is a homebred for James Ch’ng and is a direct descendant of G1 Swettenham Stud Stakes winner Lost Art (Arch Sculptor).

Geisel Park stands All American and his consistent gelding Looks Like Elvis has come in for support ahead of this Saturday’s G1 Epsom Hcp (1600m) at Randwick.  TAB media manager Glenn Munsie reported he has been specked at $51 each-way following a last-start third in the G2 Shannon Quality at Rosehill.

All American (Red Ransom) is available for a $6,600 service fee this season with Vert De Grece (Verglas) who is priced at $4,400.  All fees (inc GST).
