War Chant full-time in WA
Tuesday, 22 July 2014 - War Chant (USA) has just finished covering his last book in Kentucky ahead of a permanent move to Western Australia.
The Danzig horse has shuttled to the Sunspeed State for the last three years before Yarradale Stud’s Ron Sayers and Geisel Park’s Eddie Rigg made the move full-time with an offer to Three Chimneys Farm earlier this month.
War Chant (USA) celebrated with his 32nd stakes-winner in Italy on Saturday. His colt Time Chant won the LR Criterium Partenopeo (1500m) in Naples by more than four lengths for trainer Stefano Botti.
Time Chant (2c War Chant – Snowfield by Tale of the Cat) has been placed on debut in Milan last month and then won his maiden back at San Siro on June 18. He is the third foal of an unraced half-sister to Italian & USA stakes winner Sopran Mariduff (Persian Bold).
Second-dam Marina Duff (Caerleon) was a Group 3 winner of the valuable Premio Dormello in Milan.
War Chant was in spotlight at the 2014 Perth Magic Millions with a record-breaking consignment of his first Sunspeed yearlings.
Top price among the War Chants from Geisel Park was the colt from Point Me to It (USA) that made $95,000. The Myalup nursery also sold War Chant fillies from Old Value ($90,000) and Hot Tamale ($85,000).
