Charm offensive from All American

Wednesday, 30 November 2016 - All American mare Jill’s Charm finished November with a flourish for her sire at the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday. Trained locally by Gary Duncan, she firmed into a $2.30 favourite and justified that support with a straightforward victory in the Pelican Motors Hcp (1300m). It was her third win this season and there’s more in store according to jockey Jeff Lloyd.

Another first for Slik Sam

Tuesday, 29 November 2016 - Slik Sam kept his unbeaten first-up record intact with an on-speed victory in the Crown Towers Plate (1000m) at Ascot on Saturday. The Foreplay 3yo was successful on debut at Belmont in June before going out for a spell and the latest result has his connections looking to the future with confidence. “He had a sweet run behind the leader and then quickened nicely,” trainer Simon Miller said. “He’s a good horse but was a bit fragile early on and went shin-sore a couple of times.”

Adelaide trainer Stoked with Boggoms

Wednesday, 23 November 2016 - Foreplay gelding Boggoms will butter up this Saturday after landing a last-stride victory at Morphettville last weekend. The Phillip Stokes trained gelding was racing second-up after almost a year on the sidelines in the MAC Drink Driving? GROW UP Hcp (1250m). Stable jockey Dom Tourneur got him home with a last-stride victory over Call Me Curtis.

Stateside silver lining for All American

Monday, 7 November 2016 - Champion filly Yankee Rose will undergo knee surgery following her unplaced run in the G1 VRC Oaks but there was a silver lining for her sire All American during the Melbourne Cup carnival. All American winners continue to surface in the USA from his one-off shuttle to Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky. His fillies Infiltrada and America Mon Amie completed a double at Gulfstream on Friday and Hawthorne on Saturday.
