Behold a Beauty by All American

Thursday, 25 February 2021 | All American maintained his winning run at home and abroad when Daily Beauty surged clear in the Wang Tak Hcp (1200m) at Happy Valley on Wednesday evening

Daily Beauty is the first foal of Mixed Emotions (Testa Rossa) who is from a half-sister to Group 1 racehorse and sire Northern Meteor.  The win sent his earnings past HK$2.59 million.

The win also gave trainer Caspar Fownes some breathing space in the Hong Kong premiership from John Size (46-44) and it was instrumental in Joao Moreira maintaining the status quo – and a 93-64 margin for the jockeys’ title – over Zac Purton.

Geisel Park-based All American has an impressive strike-rate in Hong Kong headed by his all-weather specialist Elusive State.  A last-start Sha Tin winner on January 17, he will be sent to Dubai for the 2021 World Cup meeting at Meydan on March 27.

ELUSIVE STATE & TONY MILLARD

Trainer Tony Millard has being keeping him up to the mark before embarking on a second trip to the Gulf.  He stretched out nicely when let go late in a barrier trial last Friday and was back at the track for another spin on Wednesday.

Geisel Park arrived home from last week’s Perth Magic Millions Sale in time to celebrate the twin wins of Miss Vasari (Rogano) and Lincoln’s Law (All American) in 3yo maidens at Pinjarra last Sunday.

They scored over 1000m & 1600m and were ridden by brothers Chris and Brad Parnham, respectively.

Miss Vasari looked a city-class filly winning on debut down the straight in the G Force Printing Maiden.  She settled last before sprinting through a gap one off the outside rail to score by over a length running away.

Her dam Miss Safari (Ferocity) was purchased by Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg from Oakland Park in 2019.  The mare delivered an early-season colt by All American last year and is back in foal to him off a September cover.

Lincoln’s Law was stepping up to a mile for the first time and was doing his best work in the final furlong of the Country Comfort Perth Maiden.

He’s the 13th individual winner sired by All American from his first crop at Geisel Park and is bred to get over ground.  His dam Miss Begotten (Redoute’s Choice) is a half-sister to Brorama Star (G3 Hobart Cup) and Zero Drama (LR Kilmore Cup).

Lincoln’s Law is owned by Horseshoe Investments manager Rod Russell and a syndicate that includes his breeder Jade Fletcher.  They also race All American 3yo Apache Patrol who won a Pinjarra maiden in December.

Geisel Park introduced the first yearlings by its French Group 1 winner Vert de Grece (Ire) at the Magic Millions and best-priced was the filly from Straight to You (Authorized).  She made $100,000 to the bid of in-form Albany trainer Roy Rogers.
